Ok, I know this is not Oldgas.com... but had to share this as I'm still stoked about what I saw today. Since I moved back to WI. I've obviously been networking with people letting them know I collect Coke machines, Signs, etc and more recently Gas Pumps and related items... I was talking with a customer of mine about this stuff as he noticed my small replica of my Corvette on my desk at work and asked if I knew this guy _. I said no, but he went on to tell me he was really into old cars and gas pumps and stuff like that . He told me roughly where he lived but didn't have an address. So I drove out that way and no luck finding it.  A few weeks had gone by and was talking with another guy and mentioned this guy and he knew him... said he was a great guy and I should stop out. he gave me directions and that is what I did today... As I drove out there this is the first thing I saw as I pulled up....

Can't wait till you et pictures of the inside....
Oh and don't think I didn't  notice that you joined oldgas.com
Don't you leave us! (I'm there everyday too but haven't joined)
All in All I don't feel they're as close and friendly as this group
lost of shady wheeling & dealing and some bad blood between some...
But they do find some great stuff...

Eric,

You quest for a Wayne 60 is never-ending...
Personally, I think you should go for a Wayne 866!

John,

Are we going to get any more details about your new friend...?

Ok,
I was going to stretch out but I'm not as good as a story teller as our friend with the RC 81 story....

I got to the guys place and introduced myself and we hit it off right away. he was working in the shop on a 54 dodge he just picked up. I looked around his ship and saw two more gas pumps a bunch of oil/gas signs and some Coke Signs including some very rare Large Six Pack Bottle signs that nowadays fetch nearly $1000.00 he said he found 14 in the local dump years ago.. Guess who through them away... Employess of my Grandfather at the bottling plant.. Anyways we chatted for about 15 minutes and he says let me show you around.. I thought I had seen everything already and was already impressed.
Went to another pole barn building and  '<img'> Filled with over 10 vintage cars, all unrestored but in great original conditino, Vettes, 54 pickup, Bellaire, and more... All running and ready to go. Along the 3 walls of the garage are and I'm not Kidding over 40 unrestored but in pretty nice original condition Gas pumps, Waynes, Gilbarco's, Bennetts, you name it ... Talls, shorts, Visibles, Electrics. Simply amazing... I wanted so bad to say can I take a picture, but figured I just met the guy he doesn't know me, I don't want to push my luck as I want to come back again and get to know this guy. SO i just sit there and drool. THEN he says let me show you the rest!! we walk over to another garage tucked behind the other garage and there opens it up to another 8-9 cars... Bellaires, Corvettes, Old Race SPrint car race car, Cushman scooters, some old motorcycles and more... oh and more gas pumps.!!! and a few Coke Machines, Vendo 110's and a 39.  Again I was just in ah... and he I talked about a few cars, etc...
Overall, the guy was really nice and says come back anytime, and wants me to bring my vette out... so I think I've made a good friend here and can't wait to go back and maybe after a few more visits I'll be able to share some photos.  I am still stoked.... it's just cool stuff!!
And no Eric... although I have posted on Old.Gas... and I have a few pumps now... I'm true to the Soda Machine collecting hobby first.. pumps second!
thanks for letting me share...  '<img'>

I went over to Oldgas today because I have some pics of pumps I thought I would post on their discussion board.  From what I could tell it is much easier to post pics on this site.  Here I can just attach a pic from my computer, but over there it looks like I have to have the image available on the web???

Dan,
I think your right... It's a good site, but this site is much better... like eric said in an earlier post there is some bad blood between some of the members. and from what I gather they are somewhat pretentious...(big word) If you posted pictures of pumps it's kind of like "Yeah Oh well, seen them.. so what" where here... people seem generally interested in any find we come across cause that is the fun part!!! just my opionion... Not that I'm trying to pit one board against the other... but I bet we could take them in a softball Game!!! '<img'>

<<like eric said in an earlier post there is some bad blood between some of the members.>>

Can't they just put their "differences" behind them by exchanging a few she-male videos instead of gas pumps?

Seriously, that guy's collection sounds awesome.  Where I work in San Francisco (near the Giants ballpark), they are building million dollar condos and lofts...next to one of these buildings is an old garage where this man sits out front everyday and watches the dot.comers come and go.

I chatted him up once because I saw a gas sign behind him and we started talking about signs and coke machines.  He had a car behind him too along with tons of other junk piled up...I didn't ask him if I could go back there and check it out but I said,"Is that an original1950s Porsche Speedster?"

He replied,"Yep."  It was red, unrestored, top down, and looked to be in good condition.

Here's something funny... I just got back from the auto parts store and who do  I run into but this guy I've been talking about. he's picking up some stuff for the old dodge he's working on.... we talked for a few minutes, I thanked him again for letting me come and look. Ok.. he obviously has some money tied up in this stuff, or at least it's worth some money... What does the guy drive around ... the little red ford fiesta peice of Crap, pictured in the picture above! I just thought it was funny... '<img'>
