Found this on Ebay. What do you guys think. From the little I know its a V-80 automatic vend that has the same cabinet size as the 39/81. I am assuming it vends small bottles and is a single choice machine. So, it isn't the most desirable of machines.
This one looks like it is missing a few bits and pieces but if shipping was cheap and the price stayed low. Would it be a worthwhile project?? How difficult expnsive if a coin mech?? Anyone see anything else missing.?? What questions do I need to ask ?
If I did get this and get it up and running again I was thinking of siting at work.
As always your comments are most welcome.
This was one sold on Ebay a few days ago that I was watching.

You could always build a 81 out of it? The price is right.

The machine you showed us that sold did not even recover
restoration costs. However if you get this one cheap, it may not
cost too much to put it into operation at your work (it can be modified to vend cans).
It will work with our S-75 coin mechanism but you may be able to find one that uses your coins.
Assuming he has the coin entry bezel it looks mostly complete.

I was very lucky with a V-39 I sold earlier this year when two people wanted it and got into a bidding war. Believe it or not I still have a small kitty left over from this. But that's between us and not to be shared with her who pops in from time to time.
My machine was one of the first to appear on Ebay UK. Since then there have been a couple of machines here and there but certainly not a flood. However, prices that they have achieved give me an indication that this hobby I am now "up to my neck in" is for the love of it and not to make money. So re-sale I think this side of the world is not really in the equation.
I have received an e-mail from the selller of this machine to say that he bought it, in with a container load of Jukes and other bits about 10 years ago and it has just sat there. Which is pretty much the story with all the bits I have managed to get hold of.
The shipping quote is about $260.00 which is really good. And that's door to door. No import duty or extra taxes.
I guess that I would only be in this if it went for a song. I like the idea of turning it into a V-81 but think with the shipping costs involved for the extra parts might make it expensive.
Is the compressor in the V-80 the same as a V-81 OR 56.
Is it difficult to change to cans?? If it worked on cans I could use it at work. It would work on a trust thing where I can sell dimes for 50p. (about a dollar)

I like those machines and If I could find one reasonable close to me I'd get one and do it up with the stainless on the sides.. Looks real sharp... heck with the bid at about a Dollar... shipping at 260.. sounds like a no brainer to me? Go for it Dave!

Okay.... I have clearance to bid and she has even suggested that she would contribute by way of a Christmas Pressie.
So I'm egarly watching to see where it goes and what other interest (zero so far) there is in the machine.
Have asked the seller to take some inside shots but he seems reluctant, more a case of can't be bothered.
I like the idea of a conversion to cans. Is that something that would need the complete vending mech ripped out and a new one installed or just a tinkering with what is already there??
