Like soda

Can anyone give me any info on LIKE soda. I think it was similar to 7UP. Who made it and when? Any other info greatly appreciated.

From what I gather, Like was a soda that was developed possibly as far back as 1959. It was developed by the 7up company and was a diet drink. In the early days of diet drinks, soda manufactors did not want their popular products associated with a diet name. They thought they had too much invested in their products to have the customer think that their main product was fattening. Coke used Tab as their diet drink. Later on when the diet craze started, late 60's early 70's, the customer was comfortable with having a diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, or diet 7up, they were added to the lineup and the other versions were dropped. Like is diet 7up. It did not do so well and was reformulated a little and became Diet 7up
