Hello.  I'm trying to rewire my V-39 and can't quite figure it out.  Can anyone tell me how to wire the power plug?  I know where the green wire goes and that the black and white go to the 3 post and the L (live) post but don't know which goes to which.  Does the black go to #3 or L?  In addition I'm having trouble figuring out how the evaporator fan and thermostat get wired.  I can see on the diagram where the wires go, but for the thermostat and evaporator the wires are both black.  Do I just need to do trial and error.  Do I just hook up the fan and see if it spins in the right direction?  And with the thermostat do I just hook it up and see if it comes on when I turn the thermostat dial to the on position?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Black goes to #3, White goes to "L" the T-stat is like a switch, you always break the "hot" with a switch.

Thanks Johnie.  so does that mean the Thermostat will work wired either way?  Also...I forgot to ask about the condensor fan.  Do you know which posts it goes to?  thanks, Doug

Yes the T-stat. will work wired either way, the condensor fan-motor is wired in Parallel with the compressor's run winding so that it comes on with the compressor, pins #2 & "S" (the evap.fan-motor runs continuously)

great.  Thank you.  Will the fans run either way too?  If not does the evaporator fan blow air away from the coils or through the coils?  boy, I have lots of questions.  Now all I need to do is get that copper tube fixed and I'm in business.

thanks, Again, Doug

Yes, the fan motors will work wired either way, & the fan motor should pull air over the coils, then back over the motor
