I might be getting a square top Vendorlator 56 Coke machine free. Its in bad shape, but is working. It has a $.35 coin mech. Any idea on the value if restored?

Well, without sounding like a Wise-guy, they are worth what someone is willing to pay. A few years from now, they will probably be worth more than today (thats what I'm hoping for anyway)... In decent looking, working condition, they can be had between $75- $250. Don't see too many refurbs for sale to put a price on them...

What do you spend roughly to restore it ? (contemplating a 56 or 63 for my next machine)

I take it that a $3,000 price tag just for a pretty paint job is way overpriced ?

Well I had a friend that did my painting and he did it for next to nothing. But when I did machines I was building square tops which have almost no chrome to be done and are simple and parts are cheep. When I would build a machine and sell it in the $1,000 to $1,300 range I was making verry little money on them. I usually made my money parting out machines and restoring them was just for fun.

That's still cool..  I'm not aiming to make a fortune off anything myself..  I just want a simple machine, working or not that I can get to a useable state..

I'm hoping I could find something cheap..  long as there were no holes and no refrigerant leaks I could handle the rest..  (don't have the means or knowledge to deal with either of those)

right now, the machine is a POS. Has contact paper on top of it, canada dry stickers over the coke logos on the sides, and an RC cola marquee over the original coke one. Otherwise, it is in fully working order. Stays cold.

If you get it or have it, I may be interested in the rc cola sign.
