I was born and raised there, but haven't lived there in 20 years. I can tell you some good places to eat (BBQ, etc.) - where are you staying? If you have time, you can travel east of town on I-30 (old Hwy. 80) to Terrell. There are a lot of Antique stores right along the highway there. I was out there 5-10 years ago and saw one store with a Cav33 and a Cav72 while another had a slider or two.

It is about a two hour drive (one-way) west of town near Weatherford (which has some antique stores). It would be an all day adventure.

Were you able to get a tour of the plant?
I just picked up a book about Dublin Dr Pepper (have to finish my Pepsi history book first).

Glad you made it over there - it is a pretty neat plant. Last time I was there, I saw an odd looking upright Guiberson machine just down the street (attached are pics of it through the window). I think the tag said it was a Guiberson 110. A girl ran over to me from across the street and said they were firm on $1000 for it. I didn't have room in my Tahoe anyway as it was packed with my Selectivend S-48, Cav 27, Cav 33 and I had son (he was 3 then) with me in the back seat also along with all our luggage and a few cases of DP for refill. I was jam packed.
I have some other pics of Bill Closters office, but they are not digital. It will be a while before I can find them I'm sure. He took me back there before he passed away. The walls were absolutely cover in DP stuff - clocks, signs, bottles, coasters - everything you can imagine.
Steve Jebb of Soda Jerk Works told me he was the one who did the restoration of the DP SelectiVend S-48 in the soda shop.

Thats a very unusal machine, Prob worth the $1,000 as you'll probably never run into another. looks really heavy though. Are the signs mounted on it porcelain? NEAT machine
