Looky what I found over in Fowlerville, MI. via Craigslist!
soon to follow me home!
It looks like a Westinghouse Giant as described in Jeff Walters 3rd Edition/page 60, but the brass tag on the chassis says manufactured under licence fron the Coca Cola corportation by Cavlier!!! but the lids are embossed on the undersides (all four lides) & have the correct pre-war handles, same as any Westy' and then the compressor grills are on the front of this machine as opposed to the front covers shown in the picture on page 60...Hmmm , it's a water-cooled chest. with a fridgidare mechanical compressor, fired right up & began to chilled the coils instantly, as you can see the recirculation pump & water-chilling tower is smack dab in the middle of the tank under the middle section cover, and praise the Coca cola gremlins both cap/crown catchers are still there! '>
it's dam-straight, no rust, all original paint right down to the copy-right printing in the Coca~Cola" tail....quite a find me thinks!

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

WOW!!!! That's a hard.. HARD model to find complete and solid. Hope you got a great deal.... LOVE the stylish little cap catchers (almost always missing) and 4 SOLID lids with those handles.... that's gotta be worth some buck there alone. Hope you get it... will be a sweet party cooler! Coke on one side...diet on the other '>

I love these machines and someday hope to own another. My first machine was a giant but in very very poor shape. Congrats on the find!

Johnie,
I'm glad someone has a soft heart for these types of coolers! I can't believe the condition! It looks to be complete too! Great find; I hope you can bring it home some how...
On another note, when you posted, did you notice the extra attachments feature...?

Looks to be in great shape Johnnie, I have only seen two of them on eBay - one in Arkansas and one in Los Angeles. I don't think either sold for what the seller wanted.
Didn't most of these old chest coolers have bottle openers an both sides. What's on the back side of this one?
