Ok I just got this machine in a Ebay Auction for $20....The Auction....

The change slot work perfectly!! keeps everything really really cold...but this machine has a few problems....shoot 4&5 get stuck because of the 10oz-120z bar...shoot 3 doesn't seem to work at all....

This isn't really my question....i'm not up to that yet  '<img'>

My Question is...i've switch all the bulbs out behind the Soda buttons but can't seem to find a way behind the "Drink Coca~Cola" Sign

to replace any bulbs or anything back there....are there any bulbs back there?  Also with the soda button lights i replaced them with 7watt bulbs...is that right? does that matter??

Sorry i'm kind of new to this...i restored snack vending machines but these soda machines are a whole different animal...

ANY advice on the VENDO V165 would be GREATLY apreciated!!

Hi - welcome to the board.
Are you sure the sign is the light up type? Some of these machines simply had a metal sign up top.
The ones I have seen had a screw or two securing it from underneath and they could be kinda pried out from the bottom.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply collecture...it was a metal sign...i found a couple screws on the side pried it out and no lights underneath....looks like i have all the bulbs replaced...when are the lights behind the soda selectors suppost to light up just when they are out of soda?

I also noticed...there seems to be a light under the coin slot..can't quite figure out when that should be on also...replaced all the bulbs but haven't seen a one turn on yet!!

This might be for "Use Correct Change" when the chagner is low on coins.

It's quite likely the lights only light up when that flavour is sold out..  My Cornelius squaretop does the same thing..  lights come on when that flavour is sold out..

I would love to know why someone thought this was a good idea ? Would it not make more sense to have the lights always on and then switch them off when the selection is sold out ?

A large number of the original flavor strips during that time period had a small hole in them (I think at the bottom) and the words Sold Out When Lit next to it.  I have a few, but I can't seem to find them to take a pic for you.

Okay, I found one.  A little different than I thought, but same concept.

Interesting.. on my machine the bottom part with "push" is permanently enclosed in the button.. only the flavour strip itself is removable..  maybe it has "sold out" or "make another selection" on the bottom part tho.. will have to look closely now..
