A good friend of mine was taking a small roadtrip and noticed a "old" gas pump, He calls me and tells me about it. The next day we go out on a adventure to find it, What it turned out to be was a wooden hand carved creation, On the porch of this place was a 7up slider and the price was right so here she is, Also inside laying flat on a table sat a real nice 50s Dr Pepper Thermometer priced at only $24.95. it turned out to be a great day!

Joey

are you keeping the DP sign. I have been looking at one of those on Ebay for a while.

I cut the old cord off and spliced a new one on and she does cool, On the DP sign i'll probably keep as I dont have much in it. If I decide to sell, i'll stick it on the swap board before anywhere else.

Thanks

Any idea who made the slider?  Ideal or Cornelius or someone else ?
       Are the letters embossed?

cooler has a tag on the back made by ideal model 50-5. Letters are all decals with the exception of the plastic sign on the front and amazingly its not cracked. I emailed the pics to a friend who restores he says he has never seen one and it may be Canadian. Restore as 7up? or Coca Cola? or sell as is?

Joey, I have seen several sliders like this. They are the late 60's version of the 55. However about 50% of them I have seen have been from mexico. That is a cool looking slider. It would make a nice garage machine. However it is missing the coin bezel. If you are going to restore it you should leave it 7up since the sign is so nice.
