My buddies Older V63 is giving of a whole lot of heat. I haven't seen it yet, but he said the bottom is extremely hot. The compressor is working and the inside is getting cold. My guess is the condenser fan is shot. Where are you guys getting the fans from?

Sounds like that may very well be the problem. You can get condensor/evaporator fans from Soda Jerk Works or Funtronics or you can also get them at any HVAC/AC&R Store or Graingers, MSC or any of the other big industrial supply stores.

OK... Any idea on the specs for the setup? He is on the road, and can stop at Graingers during the day and pick one up.

Unplugging the machine would have been smart. I hope he was smart. I didn't ask him that... didn't think I had too.  '<img'>

Ken - I'm not sure but I would assume his V63 has the same fan as yours... I don't think they changed much (if at all) across the different models.

Did your buddy check to see if both fans are running when the compressor is on? '<img'>

He noticed it on his way out of the house this morning. He did not turn the machine off for whatever reason. He did not get it shut off until tonite, either. I will not know what he found until tomorrow. He said it was still cold inside, so I'd imagine that the upper fan was working.
