What are these?

I saw this auction and it had one of these mounted on the top of a VA56 cooler (look on the right in the picture-I'll try to get a better picture off of my machine). I have a single one on top of my VMC110 and there are holes on the other side for another one (missing on mine). They are 1/8" thick and about 12" long with a 90 degree bend at each end (I'll get exact measurements tomorrow). Are these some sort of case racks? They appear to be too far apart to hold a single wooden case.

I am sure Kito would not approve!

Anybody know?
