Ok, 4 years later and I'm still working on getting a what would be correct for the period, lighted glass door for a RT V-56. Never offered from Vendo. I didn't want to cut any of the original parts from my box so going has been slow.

Joey was kind enough to sell a bottle door and Matt sent a main door insert that is perfect. Sorry the pics aren't better. If anyone would be interested in doing the same maybe can talk Matt into making these.

When the rain stops will get all this installed. Thanks guys!!

Hey Creighton:

Do you ned help with your We-6.  I tried to send you some pics of my restoration project.  Let me know.  It is a great little machine that takes up only a little bit of space.

Interesting Creighton, are you going to light it the same as an 81?  If this works, could this part be made up modifying this insert from a parts machine?

I would be interested in having one made too.  I got a spare inner bottle assembly.  Thanks.

Guys,

I made copy of the orignal insert and then did all the cutting out for the light. I was going to put a light in my 56 Rt. But i really lost interest in the project so Creighton bought it. I hope it works.

Yes same setup as a 81. No reason why a donor couldn't be cut for the light assembly. Power will come up through the hole for the slug rejector heater.

Here is a picture of the mock-up. The lights are 12v units sold for use in PC's. The blue box is the ballest which can be removed/replaced without taking the door liner off. Black box regulates/smooths the 12v coming off the 120v to 12v wall wort. A EE friend made that. It will be mounted in the compressor area. On/Off switch will recess on the backside top of the door insert, accessable by just opening the bottle door. Any questions just ask.

Thanks for sharing will definatly be a future project, I just finished up my 81 Pepsi's cooling unit with all new paint wiring fan motors etc. Next is some cleanup on a Vendo 39 so i can move it up the road.
