Looks like the door liner is cracked, there may be rust issues under the evap and may be missing the line cover, none of which are really any big deal --- but I think he is little high priced. I would rather have a changer mech in it for that kind of money. This seller has a very nice collection of slot machines and listed a 7UP Victor a while back also. Don't think he got what he wanted for the Victor though.

Chris finds the nicest stuff. I learned a lot of restoration tips from him and have been to his house and seen the 7up Victor in person. He bought my RC 81 from me 10 years ago. I think he has been doing soda machines since the Beatles came to America.
But once we all started looking for Coke machines.......he switched over to slot machines. Maybe he knows something we don't ?     '<img'>

Glen,

Was the RC 81 a California find or a transplant?  There was an old Royal Crown bottling plant in the area where I work...I've gotten some leads on RC Sliders but nothing on uprights..of course, they only made 300 or so RC 81s from what I have hear.  I can only dream...

Quotes from the auction:
"It is missing two shelves and will of course need all rubber and plastic's replaced."
"I don't know if it cools as I have not plugged it in."

You'd think that for $3,700 he'd at least chip in a few bucks and buy replacements for the two missing shelves and actually plug it in to test it. That ain't chump change. Geeeeesh!

No this machine was found local.  Had a customer who was selling an old Coke machine painted yeller'.  When I got there it was RC........the red paint on the embossed letters was buffed off and she couldn't see them.  She had if for 20 years.
Kito, you're right!  For someone who can do a show quality restoration.......testing the refrigeration is not a lot to ask!

Kinda curious what was an RC 81 worth 10 years ago?? Seems in todays market if you can find one $11,000-15,000 seems to be the going rate.
