This will keep track of my attempt to bring a Vendo Decorator Pepsi Machine into this millenium.  I bought this machine for $50.00 west of Phoenix.  The owner let me know that the machine ran but did not cool.  This is the first machine of this type that I have seen.  For many of you this may be routine to update but this will be my first real attempt at updating any machine besides my Vendolator VMC-77.  Most of that was a good cleaning and painting the interior parts.

This Decorator was designed between 1968-70.  This front of the machine had seen to many HOT Arizona days in its time and had warped and become distorted.

Once I got the machine home my first duty was to get the bottom hosed out.  It had atleast 3 pounds of dust, dirt and spiders in the bottom.  Once I had accomplished that I then began to assess the inside of the machine.  It surprising look quite nice but it is missing one rack for the bottles.

Here is a quick before and after look to see how much better the door looks.  Obviously I had no way to keep the lovely panel look.  I have opted for smooth clean look.  I may take this in the direction of a Miller Lite theme.  The color will be simple enough for me and hopefully I can locate decals to give it a finished look.  I would like to keep the Pepsi look but the only Pepsi bottles that I have access to are from Mexico and they won't go through the vending holes.  The glass is about 3 times as thick as a regular American bottle.
