Hi everyone, Curtis from Memory Lane Restorations. Get this! I have been a subcontractor for several large websites over the past several years, now most of you know me and have seen many photos of my work. Now I got a nasty phone call from the owner of one of these sites demanding me to remove my photos from the internet.
Now I got a 1099 form every year I had done work for this company as a subcontractor. Now I always take photos of all the machines I restore with my camera, downloaded on my computer so I can display my companys Quaility Restoration work. They are saying they own the photos that I took with my camera of my restoration work. Keep in mind, they say they own my photos because they contracted my company to do the work.  I own each and every photo of  the machines I restored and can use them as I please. Everything I designed and created belongs to me. They were my ideas, my thoughts and my restorations. For my photos to belong to them, they would have needed me to sign a simple form called an Indexical property agreement.
There off ther rocker! I warn everyone who might do business with these people to watch out. They have already been cut off from buying parts from all the large parts companys and if you have been cut off from Funtronics, you screwed up big time. Everyone go to E-bay and type in stoner candy in the search. there are just a few examples of my Battle Brewing photos.
Thanks everyone taking the time to read this. Curtis Kauffman memorylane@myactv.net
P.S. The logo in the photo below belongs to me and I have all the original art work and reciept for having it done.

Curtis:

As a contract employee, unless you had a separate intellectual copyright agreement, it is my understanding that the photos are yours.  If you need additional legal help, I have copyright attorneys who work with me and would be willing to assist you in any way.  These guys can't get enough of the Stoner candy machines you have helped me with over the last 3 years.  In fact, I gave one of my restorations that you helped me with, to one of my attorneys.

Let me know if you need my assistence.

Give them #### Curtis, Don't give up without a fight!! If BITW would have made things right with you in the first place, they wouldn't have to resort to this!! I'll be doing my business with you. '<img'>

Thanks Terry, I guess you know they are using my logo on there one site. I had that logo designed back in 1997 and the Fire truck under the restoration page is my work as well. That went to a couple in Jefferson MD. You know if they want to give me free advertisement that will be fine with me. Look at the nice add I have on E-bay item #7218243632 I'll send everyone there. It's like having an extra website for free. I can surely beat there prices and I know they will never match my Quaility. Coming soon will be a video clip of the Roker on the road piece ( A Blast from the past ) I'm the only one they interviewed and Filmed for the TV show which aired in June 2005. I'm sure I'll here something like You can't use yourself, we own you. But thanks for your support. Just a few of my restorations. OOPS! Did I do that.

Yep I know how that works, when I worked for the local paper in high school,
that very subject of who owns what was brought up at our meetings,
it seemed since we were employees of the paper, they owned what ever
creative work we did, being their employee and on their time.

I'd like to see how this comes out. Being I may hire someone to help decorate cakes,
cookies and candy in my shop. (My new addition will be going up this summer)!!

I would have anyone that works for you sign a intellectual copyright agreement. This will asure what they do while working for you, belongs to you.

Last two for now! Check out the National Cigarette machine in the photo, I restored that for him about two years ago. Great piece!
