Tinsmore:
Please, no more pictures. I can't take it any longer. If this keeps up, I an threatening to show my ugly motts machine again. I would find a nice quiet place and bury the machine once and for all. The only machine that may be less attractive is the "before" picture of my Vendo 59 that sat in wetlands for 35 years. It is affectionatly known as "swamp thing"
I will post the pics if anyone is interested.

I would like to see thee wetland picture. Here in the desert we have the exact opposite problem. Two inches of dust/dirt and spiders in the bottom and very faded. So far I have not had a problem with steel and rust. I just plugged in this beauty. The light on top lit with a new ballast. I will give a definate answer on cooling in just a bit and also show a picture of of the "Spider Jungle Habitat" that was in the bottom. '>

ICE COLD BABY!!!
I'm not crazy but would anyone know where I could find a replacement panel for the front? Possibly just like this one or close? With it all coming to together as a solid unit that needs a cleaning etc I thought this could "TRULY" be a conversation piece once cleaned up. And now for the much anticipated "Spider Habitat"

Having owned one of these and trying for 2 years to sell it, I finally got more money by parting it out, and then I junked the door. You may consider having a sheet metal shop bend you an overlay and screw it onto the door. Then paint and create your own graphics. And am I the only one here that thinks the Motts machine is kind of cool looking?

Bryan, I emailed the guy and he told me someone was coming over on Sunday to look at it around 3:00 and if he didn't show up then I could have it for $50. After that he emailed me and said he was tired of people saying that they would show and they don't for other things that he had sold in the past so the first one there was the first one to have it. After driving the 95 miles to something that I had no real idea if it worked I did start to second guess my decision, but with what I saw here and that you didn't say for certain if you were going to go for it or if you still were even thinking about it. If you would have said that you were going to look at it then I would have known that it was you he was talking about but you got quiet on this subject. Sorry about sniping you it wasn't on purpose.

This is the famouse "swamp thing". I was buying a 1945 pay phone from a collector and I mentioned to him I collected old soda machines. He said there was one in a wetlands area next to his cottage. He told me his father used it in the drug store in the late 50s/early 60s. "if you can hall it out, then it's yours" he told me.
I could not get the coin mech to work no matter what I did. I decided to restore it and use it as a base for my son's octagon texas holdem poker table. I think it looks a lot better now then it did a few months ago.
ps can you spot my restored Vendo 56 squre top Pepsi in the background?
