Cavalier cs96 door gasket

Hi Gang,
This Cavalier CS96 was my first soda machine project that I completed about 12 years ago. Since we didn't have SMC at the time, I had to do the best I could with mail order parts etc.

Two Questions: I'd like to replace the breaker strips and main door gasket - are pre-punched and formed door gaskets now available or should I plan on buying the gasket material by the foot again? If I make my own using bulk gasket, any tips for joining it at the corners and cutting notches so it will bend around the curved top?

Welcome aboard Chad,
 You can get both parts from Funtonics or the Soda Jerk Works. You'll have to poke holes in the gasket, just line it up and use a Ahl to pierce the hole.  '>

I believe I used Memory Lane in CA for the gasket last time - are they still around?

Any tips on the best way to curve the gasket around the top of the door/liner? The original looked like it had narrow slits cut but it was so rotted that it fell to pieces.

The original gasket Cavalier used was ugly at the corners because it had to be notched. I lift the edge at the bottom of the door liner and begin installing the Vendo style gasket.  At the top corners a heat gun will allow the material to stretch intil the bulb lays flat.

You're right, the original Cavalier gasket looks rough and my attempt at duplicating the notches looked even worse '>
