I intentionally had my Jr. redone in the original colors. I'm more of a purist when it comes to antique coin-op machines. I didn't want any extra mirrors that weren't original and any additional lettering except for the original "Fresh Candy" embossing on the flip-down cover for the info card which I also duplicated. Basically I wanted this to look as close to how it looked when it rolled off of the assembly line.

I didn't have a choice on the handles. The original bakelite handles were the orange marbled and one of them had a huge chunk missing off of it. I repaired the handle and decided to paint them red.

That and the polishing on the stainless parts are the only things I didn't do myself. I restored/rebulit the vending mech myself.

Talking of Stoners

I have just seen this on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....ck=true

Would like to bid but with tensions in the house at an all time high and the Postal service now getting back into profit with my recent purchases I'll have to pass. But there was someone out there a while ago who was looking for one of these. Just can't remember who it was.

I think the Stoners look nicer with out the separate gum caddies.  I have never seen a totally restored Stoner with the gum caddy intact.  If anyone has such a picture, please post it.  This is my 3rd Stoner project.  It is a 180.  I am doing it without decals.  The candy is actually painted on with pearl white.  It should be complete in a couple of weeks.

ps

As you can see my "hooby" has taken over my office.  Matt Carter asked about the fresh paint fumes.  I almost passed out a couple of times at work today.  In the future, I would not reccommend that you put anything using automotive paint
in you office until at least a week after it has need painted.

My wife thinks I have gone completely mad.

That's what happens after sniffing too much paint!
