Sorry, but it's a POP MACHINE!

Well, I am getting rid of my LaCrosse slant-shelf Pepsi machine.  I'm giving it to a buddy of mine and he's going to pick it up this afternoon.  I was getting things ready and I noticed that I somehow the lock fell out (or at least what was left of it)!  The person I got it from rigged it so that you just had to stick a large allenwrench in the hole to unscrew it.  Does anyone have something that will work?  Heck, it doesnt even have to lock, it just has to keep the machine closed.

Here's a pic of the lock area on the body and the door.  As I said, it is a screw type.

A standard bolt will work. It won't look right but it will keep the door closed.

Dr G

I may be like an Ideal screw lock or the more modern "T handle" locks. I just went through this with my Big Choice Vend. The screw parts come in all different lengths but I have one that is kind of short.

Will a T handle lock work?

Dr G

Check this link out to an ebay auction.

This shows a Lacross machine with a crank handle & the screw lock. Your machine is like my Ideal 55.

I replaced the bolt to the T-Handle of my La Crosse with a modern one.  The new bolt was a little shorter then the orignal but it still works.  Replacement nuts can be found at REAL Hardware stores.  You know the ones with products on the shelf that were new 30 years ago.  I am lucky to have one in the town I live in.

Thanks guys.  I think he might just be using a bolt (haven't heard back from him, but he is a OTR driver and I'm down in Indy for a conference).  He's progressing pretty well with the machine.  He got someone who was able to remove the busted hinge pins.
