Hi, Cool site! I just bought a Vendo 81 for $250 and ready to clean it up and polish it, maybe replace some of the decals.

I'm not going for a brand new appearance. It runs and is quiet,
where to start? Best way to clean finish and polish?

How energy efficiant are they? More questions to come!

Thanks. Brian

Welcome aboard Hairboy,
You could start buy selling me the machine for 500.00 and doubling your money. Ha-Ha... Great buy. Show us a picture of it when you get it cleaned up. Keep in mind that the electrical components are over 50 years old. I would highly recommend that you replace them. Cost would be approx. 125.00 if you did the work yourself. The parts are readily avail. through Funtronics and the Soda Jerk Works. '<img'>

Yeah just wash and wax and maybe some CLR on the rust area on the bottom inside
of the main door then some type of rust preventive to stop it from coming back.
and a little detail cleaning around the compressor and she look like new!
You Stole That for $250! You sure there wasn't another 0 on the price tag and it fell off!'<img'>
Great find!
Welcome to the board... Hope you stick around!
