Ginger Again,
From previous post you will note that my V81A small coin
door mech kept chucking the coins out, anyway as I had
no idea how to get that pesky coin mech off, I tied up a
piece of the actuator and hey presto it was on free vend,
which is probably the easiest as I am in the UK, [no dimes
or nickels].
After my post I was eagerly anticipating a myriad of replys
to sort out pesky Mr Coin Mech.......................well 2005
gone and time to move on.
I have checked out all those posts and advice to boil in the bag with washup liquid for a couple of hours and dry.
........So, after little thought & iin between trying to tile
my ensuite I had a bash at the coin mech.
After an hours to and fro from the kitchen to the lounge with
numerous kettles of hot water and hip slung wash up bottle
I doused the coin mech in situ.[those plastic roller paint trays
are great to jam under the front door to recycle the water!
but caution health and safety warning children. Please always
wear oven gloves BEFORE you try to pick up those nickels and dimes out of the tray.
Anyway, a result of sorts.
both one dime or two nickels now flow thru coin mech
however, they do not fully drop into the cam slots 100% of the time, they sometimes stick right at the last moment. If you move the crank handle a little they then fall into place.
This probably only happens 1 out of 3,
but when I am not there I do not want people trying to
force the mech against its will.
Is there any adjustment or has the mech just been bashed about too much.
Finally if it helps with any answer, the small rod that that the coins jam up against has a small metal plate about 2mm square
on the front, this does not seem to tighten?
You know the sound of those coins hitting the floor of the coin catcher, like the sound of my old teachers pet pinball
starting up, happy days.
I have posted pix of machine in pre 60's section.
Oh and the coin mech has printed on it, 5c 5c 10c 3721

Congrat's..........slug rejector is working. Now check that it is positioned above the cam slots properly. It may be too far in or out! |

Ginger,
On another note, it appears that the slug rejector is missing parts...
This could attribute to only a few coins out of many getting into the slot to allow a complete vend cycle...
Can you provide a closer and sharper focus image of your slug rejector...?

thx for the response.
I will not have more pix til next week.
In terms of the cam the coins seem to be inline with
the slots in terms of front of machine to back of machine.
The coins seem initially to fall to the right of centre
then as the crank handle is nudged they fall back to the left
to then drop into the slots.

Is the machine level? If not that might cause the problems.

I had success with getting my coin mech off. Looking at the pictures it appears to be very similar to yours.
Next time you are in front of it why don't you give me a ring and I'll try and wall you through what I did. With it off it might be more apparent what is wrong.
I think you have my number, if not PM me and I'll send it to you. As always, if you are nearby pop in and I'll run it through with you in person.

better to get those basics right in terms of troubleshooting.
I had not even thought about that as an option.

I would remove the coin mech and slug rejector and give them a through cleaning. I would clean them up with some degreaser solvent and run them through the dish washer. Lube the shaft of the coin mech with grease (be careful not to get any grease in the coin slots) and lube the slug rejector with a dry graphite powder. Re-install the unit, check leveling and alignment.  '>

thx everyone for for your input.
Have made some major adjustments to machine,
[most noticeably utilising one of the free papers
delivered locally] and this seems to have levelled
machine and allowed the
coins to drop into the cams, maybe 9/10 times and
at the present moment I am over the moon at that
level of acceptance.
Once I get my apartmet sold and into a larger house
and have more time I will be after further advice,
