Do you want to increase the diameter of the rollers? Try duct tape.

Glen,
you may be on to something here. The rollers may have actually slightly shrunk in diameter due to exposure. Plastic and rubber will both do that in extreme conditions, especially when not treated. It sounds like Dave's machine was pretty ignored for many years before he rescued it and would have been a perfect example of this condition. It can't hurt putting a few turns of duct tape on the rollers to prove/disprove this idea. If that ends up being the culprit, get new ones made. I was looking at my Vendo 144 manual and the roller diameter should be 1 7/8 inch. (Now for some math!!
) C/d = pie therefore C= Pie x d so the roller circumference should be close to 3.14 x 1.875 which equals 2.7475 inches (real close to 2 3/4 inch). Take some measurements and let me know what you come up with. If the diameter is less than 1 7/8 inch and the circumference is less than 2 3/4 inch, I'll bet that's why the bottles aren't loading/falling correctly.

Sorry it’s taken me awhile to get back to you guys. Over the holidays, I had the happy experience of cutting a piece off my right middle finger, and to be honest haven’t felt like messing with anything.
Now, back to the issue. When I load the machine with new non-returnable bottles. The bottles are able to get side by side. Are the bottles a smaller diameter, than the ones the machine was designed for?
As for the cans sticking. It looks like if I turn the rollers (removing some of the rubber) that the cans will vend properly.
Now for a new question. I’ve installed a coinco changer (75-9800B) the coin chute (that attaches to the bezel) interferes with the coin chute of the changer. Which would be proper to modify?
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Dave
