OK, I got the cooling fixed. New Compressor, and both fan motors. It cycles on at 40 and off at 30 degrees. Thelids fit on ok but if you nudge it wrong it slides off. There is something missing but what? Here's a pick of the cooler lid open on one side. Is ther some gaskets missing? Here's the one left over piece on top of the lid. I'm assuming that rests on top of the circulating fan cage......is it missing some rubber?

Here's a pic of the dug out are the lids sit on top of the outer edges. Excuse the interior. That's the last thing I have to do.

Here's a pic of the outside. This was on Ebay for a ridiculous amount. Nobody bought it. Every few weeks it would come back on Ebay with the reserve going down another few hundred dollars. After the 4th or 5th time with to high a reserve I emailed and finaly got it cheap when the husband was deer hunting? The wife emailed me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse but had to come and get it NOW!

That looks like a WD-10... I think there should be some sort of gasket along the lid to seal the compartment and stop the lid from sliding around the top edge of the cooler... I think I have reference material that I look at for the answer. Check back later today... I also think the trim piece along the bottom front should be polished, not painted red.

The lids on the WD10 should have a squarish-fiberglass inner liner (one per lid) that holds some insulation to keep the cold from migrating into the bottom of the lids, this is what keeps the lids centered on the top,Jim is also correct that there should be a gasket on the outer-edge of the lids too.

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Here's a diagram from the service manual for the WD-5, WD-10, WD-12 & WD-22. It shows that there's supposed to be a gasket on the cooler as well as one along the center which is the piece you have pictured on one of the lids.

Nice job Jim! I have some of the inserts coming and am cutious as to how they will be affixed to the Lid. Do you think I will have to drill out all the rivets you see in the lid pic I have? Another wuestion comes up is how was thtat center stripped secured? Thanks again folks!
