I just brought home an embossed 7-UP S&S 1400-WD2 Cooler. It took me forever to find the little itty bitty tag that had the makers name on it.  '> It is not in too bad of shape. The paint is not original and it only has minor surface rust on the outside. There is one area above the compressor that has a rust problem but it should not be too hard to fix. I have found a small crack at the top of the inside liner so far. It is getting a power washer bath tomorrow so if there are any more I will find them. The power cord for the compressor is almost gone. What is left breaks off when you apply a little pressure to it. There was enough of the cord left to allow me to attach another cord and start the compressor. It cooled right down. The front grill and bottle opener are missing but it does have the external cap catcher and both lids. After I give it a good cleaning I will post better pictures. This is the only one I have right now.

I almost bought that cooler. It was passed close to it on my way from Minneapolis to Memphis. I am so glad I didn't hit the buy it now button as I wouldn't have had room for it. Great score. Leonard had a nice origional cooler just like that.

Sounds like I got lucky. I ended up paying $35 for it and I live about 55 miles from where it was at so I only paid about $20 in gas to get it. Well, I gave it a good cleaning today. Oh it was bad, real bad. After getting done cleaning it I filled it with water and noticed that the drain spout was leaking. I thought that I did not have the stop in tight enough so I twisted the stop and the whole drain spout came off. Somebody had broken it and used sealant to put it back on. I will have to figure out a way to permanently attach it to the drain pipe. I have the drain pipe plugged and have it running right now with water in it. The only sound you can hear coming out of it is the fan running. Can’t hear the compressor unless you place your ear right on the compressor. I will need to take the liner out and replace the metal bottom of the tank. That will mean I will have to break a coolant line somewhere. That is going to suck. Talked it over with the wife and we are going to paint it white. Of course we will paint the embossed 7-UP sections the correct color. Just need to find or make a front grill for it. Here are a few pictures of it.

The machine is wet or dry so don't worry if it holds water or not.

Cool looking "stubby" cap catcher! Hope all the coils get frosted like the top one in your picture, that means you have a full charge.
If not, it looks as if your compressor has fittings/valves so you can recover your freon ( $$$) before removing the tubes and liner, and then reuse and add if necessary. Better check what freon is present in the system tho'
The original compressor works so you are so...so.........in luck!

Thanks. The reason why only the top coil is frosted is because I have water in it. I have been running the machine for about 4 hours now. The top coil is real frosty and the bottom three coils are a solid block of ice. I have left home a couple of times today so I don’t know if the compressor has kicked off or not. Last night when I ran it dry the compressor did shut off after it cooled down, and yes all of the coils did frost up. My wife started with what the #### are you going to do with it, to if you are not going to sell it we could have a party this coming summer and fill it with pop and beer. I wish she would make up my mind.  '>

Put the “You like it ” “It Likes you” one either side of the embossing......
