Quote (Jim @ Oct. 23 2005,7:31) | Regarding manuals becoming free domain on SMC...
Eric and I had a brief discussion on this and my thoughts are: Due to the people attempting to earn a small living from reproduction parts, manuals, and other various supplies for soda machine/cooler restorations, I'm not sure how receptive this idea would be taken since a small slice of "their", Parts Suppliers, inventory is to become free domain on the internet... Any thoughts are definately welcome!
My personal opinion is that it's a great idea and can easily be incorporated into the Discussion Areas. |
Jim - I think posting them would be fine. Selling them might get you into hot water. Like Josh said, I doubt that anybody selling manuals actually has rights to do so... It's a low volume niche market and unlikely to grab much attention from anyone.

Things were a little crazy with moving. I know I owe Eric the stoner manual but please remind me if I have forgotten anyone. Does anyone else want any of these manuals? I am going to start throwing some away soon. Some of the 70's cup vendor manuals I don't think anyone will need.

All I need is for people to send me their address and I will get them out. I just want them to help other people but I don't have the ability to scan or even know how to do anything with this stuff. Heck I even have a website that I don't know how to maintain and my website guy bailed on me. Oh well.

I got power back a couple of days ago. DSL yesterday I believe it was. There are some manuals that should already be on the way. No telephone, it went the wrong way, they say by the evening of the 16th it should be corrected. I will begin on the manuals as soon as they arrive. Can send the scanned files via the internet back to the site. And will burn copies of the files to CD or DVD based on size of files and space needed. Will mail them back with the manuals when done. Hows that for an update. Nice to have something positive to report.

Dr Galaga, thanks for the kind words. This last manual is going to take a few days. Between the age, water damage, and 155 or so pages, it will be a project and a half. If you guys and gals can bear with me, I will more than happy to keep working on any and all that you would like to put online here. Glad you like them.
