I just came into possession of a dixie narco model 300/175-5.  Some parts are missing from the door panel; the whole coin mechanism behind the coin slot down to the coin return, The lock, the bottle cap capture box(which is easily fixed), the wiring schematic on the back panel of the door, and the most important piece of all a power cord. I have looked around and found some parts that I could purchase but some of the bigger pieces I can not find.  Can anyone help me since I am new to restoring?  Here is a picture of the unit.

Welcome aboard!
Coin mech: johnieG sells them and you can find them on ebay.
Lock: try one of the supporters (advertisers) of the site.  Their ads are at the top of the page or try ebay.
Power cord: local hardware store.  Buy a nice high amperage one and not a cheap one!
Schematic: This might be a tough one.  Try the advertisers for one.

Stick around a while and let's see some picks of the missing parts inside!

Arrgh! welcome aboard matey! ( Opps, too much Sponge-Bob with my 7 year old I guess!  ':p' ) Nice machine & welcome to the site, you're  in luck (sorta)  I just picked up a DixieNarco 312/180-6 7up machine this Friday, they are very simular machines (Yea-Yea , I know, I know I'll post you lubbers' some pics soon enough  ':<img:'>  ) I had to drill the lock, but I got a coinbox full of quarters for my troubles! ($26.50!) these vendors are able to vend either bottles or cans, if yours has the back-spacers in the rear of the vending columns, it was originally setup for bottles. yours has the capacity to vend 300 cans or 175 bottles/5 selection-columns.

As for coinmechs, any 120 volt AC/ single price coinmech should fit, I just install a Coinco S75-9800/B in mine & it works great,

I found some replacement parts at this site...VEII on the web, just enter "Dixie Narco" under their search window here's a link, they've got buttons, coinbezels, & vending motors for Dixie Narcos not much, but it's a start, also check with used/vending machine liquidators on Ebay, DN's were fairly popular & many parts are still around. oh & here is the link...

As promised, here's my Dixie-Narco 312/180-6 /7up a little dirty, but it'll clean up nice, just spilt soda all over,  yuk! ':p' .,

and here's the Westinghouse standard wet cooler chassis, note the channel for the cooling lines & water circulation motor, this is one of the few I've found that still hase the brass-ID tag still attatched, you have to admire that Pre-WWII steel, man it holds up to abuse! it's a nice solid chassis, it'll need a set of lids, I'm going to replace the liner with stainless & and I think I'll convert it to forced air/evaporator-cooling (nobody ever wants to buy a "wet" chest cooler.) funny thing that it has a Dr. Pepper crown-puller can't really see it in this pic. but it does say "good for life" in the tail of the "D"
