'> I recently won my first machine on ebay. Everything worked yesterday when I pulged it in. Now I can't vend my bottles. I have a 1961 glass door. When the coin is deposited you can here the vend kick in but the roller bars do not release. Does anyone have any suggestions, your help would be greatly apprecaited.

Hello Bruce,
Welcome to the board! Please let us know any numbers or manufacture's information you can find on the machine and coin unit. Pictures are always a plus. A read through the old posts may give you some idea's as well.

the model #is dns-126 by dixie narco. My problems are very similar to the guy on the help board. Like I was saying it worked sort of fine yesterday. When I say sort of I mean I had some problems with the coin mec. excepting the quarter. but it vended the bottles great. Today it kept kicking the change into the change bin. When I press the button for the light it acts like it wants to work but it won't kick on. Does this mean I might have a wiring short. possible?Thank you for the welcome its pretty cool in this day in age that there is somewere thats helpful. Thanks.

I had a very similar problem with one of my slant shelf machines. One of the leads going to the vend relay also doubled as a connection point for the light-up sign. The connector is a standard copper sheath-blade connector (like the connector used on aftermarket car stereo speakers). The problem was that the sheath (or female end) had corroded to the point that it had fallen off the blade (male end) attached to the relay. Once that happens, no power to the relay and no power to the lightup sign. I'm not sure where this relay is located in the Dixie-Narco machines, but on Vendo and Cavalier slant-shelfs, it is generally located on the bottom-rear portion of the bottle stack. If this ends up being your problem, you'll just need to snip off the old sheath and crimp on a new one (of course AFTER you have unplugged the machine from its power source...doing the 60 hertz shuffle is generally not considered a popular dance step!!

I thought the 400 Hz shuffle was called the "Dead Man Walking".
