Free vend with no push button

Has anyone used one of these?  He says you don't need a button to trip it.  Do you think he is just holding the relay open all the time?

It says that there is no switch, so I bet it is the same as the free-vend switch, with the wires soldered together (or wire-nutted) instead of a switch.  If I remember right from a previous post, this will work okay for the push-button machines, but not the slant-shelf machines due to the vending solenoid.

If he did wire nut the wires together instead of a switch wounldn't that old the relay open all the time?  If that is the case the machine would be buzzing all the time even more than it does now.  I also don't know if I would want to do that to a relay that is already that old.  Who knows how many cycles are left in her.

Yep, that's right and I feel the same way as you.  There was a discussion about this a few months ago, but I can't find it now.  Basically someone said that it would be okay for a push button machine.  
Anyone know what thread this was in?

I sent the seller an email asking about the relay and he said yes it did energize the relay.  So to me that means the guy gets the 9-pin jones plug twists a few wires together and sells it for $20 including shipping.  

I am in the wrong business.

ding ding ding! we have several winners! if he's hard-wired it together, then it won't work on a slant shelf vendor, with a single soleniod/bottle gate, asd it would energize the poor little thing "on" & it would burn out in short order. (no pun intended   ) it would only work for a multi-button machine with a seperate vending/credit relay. and if by chance you hooked it up to say pre-select type, say a Westinghouse WC-102/78/60-MD "Select-a-Matic", it would vend the machine continuosly, ie: the whole machines contents would end up on the floor..fun huh?
