Cav 142

After recently parting out my west 78 md, I have been trying to find a slant shelf bottle machine without woodgrain. I lost out on several machines close to me, but I finally got this cav 142 that was only 90 miles away. I have not picked it up yet, but will soon and will be able to check it out then an post other pics.  Looks to be in decent shape, with little to no rust and the seller says it runs.  I know that bigger is not always better in coke machines, but I got what I was looking for and what seems to be a good price.  Any comments would be appreciated.

I say if you got it for what you feel is a good price and it requires minimum or no effort to make it fully functional, ya done good.  In the end if you're satisfied, then everything else is trivia.  One of my favorite machines is the Vendo 144  (yeah Kito and the 216 too) and they'll never be considered collectible but they're different and I like them simply because of that (and the sentimental side because the 144 was my first round top and first restoration project).

Consider it a July 4th gift!

Keith - not a bad deal.  Looks like you 'll need a shelf, cap catcher and coin catcher.  Josh is parting out a Cav... can't remember if its CS or US though?
