I want to do my next machine in Mt Dew.  Would love to see what she could look like.  Congrats on the great score!

With this type of activity, I might have to look into RSS feeds for cell phones!
If you blinked, you missed this transaction!

Hey Jim - the RSS feed (if even possible) might be more than required... but Kito's comment about text messaging Josh got me thinking.

Creighton for those of us that are willing to post our text message addresses, could we add them to the chapter file?

Sure no problem on adding to SMC list. How does text message work? Bit behind the times here :-)

It's a message that's sent to your phone - like the old pagers.  It can be sent directly from another phone or in most cases can also be sent as an email; to a special address that resolves to the phone.

Text is fine but I wouldn't even mind adding my cell # for any member to call. I love this hobby and would never mind a call from someone needing help or giving a heads up on a machine. That might just be me but I think it would be a good idea. ':drinkers:'

Ok,
Sounds like we need two new fields. I have updated the SMC Member List.
SMC Chapter and Member List

I switched the area code (408) with the first three numbers in my cell phone #. Will this format work for all? PM me with any updates.

Where do get the email address, cell service provider? Could someone send a quick test message to me so I can see how this works.
Thanks,
Creighton

Creighton - your text email address with vary by service provider.  As an example, my carrier is tmobile and they use the @tmomail.net domain for their addresses. My text address is phone#@tmomail.net. You should be able to look online or call customer service to get your msg'ing address.

Even without the email address you should be able to send a text msg from one phone to another using just the phone#.  To test this I sent you a text msg phone to phone.

Finally - do you want us to send you the mobile# and/or text address or do we put them in the SMC profile so you can strip them?

Thanks Bryan for helping me sort that out. Just PM over whatever you want added to the member list. If you want to add this info to your profile have at it. Data mining for something this simple isn't worth taking Jims time.

Is it worth the confusion to swap the area code? Let me know.

If you go with Mt Dew colors please post pics.
I think that would be a great addition to the web site gallery.

My hubby wont let me buy another until the fall. So hey,
