"We need to start making a list.... I've notice this question has popped up several times....... " -Eric
I agree with Eric's statment from his post in "Another 51 near me" under "Other Auctions"
So I would like to start for late model Vendo 39's (model E39D) since that is what I have, so far I have found the following glass bottles to fit...:
8 oz cokes 12 oz Dad's Root Beer (from realsoda.com) 12 oz Dad's Cream Soda (from realsoda.com) 12 oz Bubble Up (from realsoda.com) 12 oz Budweiser long necks
Does not fit: 12 oz glass Orange Crush bottles 16.9 oz (.5 liter) plastic coke bottles

The smaller Yoo-Hoo bottles will fit in my Vendo 23, so I would imagine they would fit in the many other small bottle machines (i.e., 39, 51).

Most single flavored machines could only vend short bottles. According to Jeff Walters Soda Machines book, the late model 39 came with a modified drum allowing 12 oz bottles to be loaded, but with the cap to the rear wall. Isn't it difficult to grab a bottle by the base?

Moondawg- sorry did not see your post earlier Its not too hard to grab them, as they stick out about an inch to two inches, but not as easy to grab as bottle cap end sticking out. Plus, the bottle before is gone, so you can help push out the bottle to get a good hold.

Well, I just found 7-up, RC , Big Red , Big Red Cream, A&W , Diet A & W in glass bottles. The bottles have a screw top plastic cap. Will these work with a V-56 Machine? Matt

Best way to find out is buy a six pack and give it a try. May need to adjust shelves, roller depth. Let us know how it goes. Creighton
