Vendo 81 shelves

Will the shelves from a Vendo 81 work in a Vendo 56?

Is it for a square top or a round top? I have cut off solid 81 shelves that don't have the slide to fit a 56. If you do it right you can't tell the difference. But again it will only work on the square top solid shelves.
