I have a vendo 172 6select can and a Lacrosse ec81-L and I dont see any reference to them anywhere...I find it hard to believe I have the only 2 of these ever made!! I know the last year they made the V-172 was 1973.
The lacrosse? I have nothing on.

Hello Snackdude,
Welcome aboard. The La Crosse 81 is a fairly uncommon machine. It was produced in the mid 50's. It will vend 81 bottles and pre-cools 9. It is an electric machine, meaning that all you have to do is deposit the correct amount of coins, open the door and pull out your desired flavor of soda. It is a slant shelf machine. It will vend 6 1/2 to 12 ounce bottles. These usually show up in the great lake states, I have only seen a couple here in California. Hope this helps you out.  ':drinkers:'

Hi terry, Yeah it helps, I figured it wasn't too common. it runs great...cooled down to 34f pretty quick, needs some TLC but I was thinking of giving it a corvette themed make-over

Does changing the "theme" from Sundrop to something else (like corvette or Pepsi) change the value of the machine?

I believe that all the La Crosse 81's were originally Pepsi machines. I would restore it back to Pepsi.I beleive this would be your best bet on resale, if you decide to sell it later. '<img'>
