The orientation of the pins threw me off a bit .  Here is how it worked for me in my machine.

Perhaps this drawing of the coin mechs female socket ("jone" plug) will help with your wiring issue

I understand the concept it’s either orientation of the plug in the machine.  It’s not labeled so it was a game of guess what pins are 1& 3?  Or the Jones Plug was replaced at one time and not re wired correctly .
