I am trying to buy a bunch of keys for vendo's and Cavaliers. What locks seem to be the most common? Also I know that the Vendo's used PR keys what did cavalier use?

Dear Loman4ec,
Cavaliers prefix was C, I have one that fits a Cavalier 64 and I just bought a PR key off ebay that fits a Vendo 63.Question for you what color paint did you use for your Frostie machine and how did you make the light up sign?? I have a Vendorlator 56 and 90 that I was thinking about changing into a Frostie.

The paint for the frosty was Dupont Nason Penski Yellow. It is the same color they paint their rental trucks with. Curtis from BITW made the sign for me. It was not a true lightup sign. it was a vinyl decal on a white piece of plexiglass and a piece of clear plexi on front. it looked great. I bought all of the decals from bitw. I think in all it was about $300 for all of the decals.

I don't know what PR stands for either but  have noticed a lot of 50's Vendo's numbered PR 501 to PR 510.
Try taking this full set of ten keys with you to the swapmeet.  There's a guy selling an old Coke machine but the key is long lost.  Pull out your keys, open the machine and inspect it as the seller looks on.  Close the door, lock it and start to walk away.    '<img'>

I think the pr keys are from "Chicago locks". My Vendo 39´s have "Rockfort" locks, these are ve keys.

That's a great idea Glen :-)

Yep its Chicago Lock Co. I had to drill out a PR522 and it took awhile to find a complete PR561 assembly. The guy I got the 561 from said he had never seen another but there are two lots on Ebay that have 561's keys??. Let me know what lot you want and I'll do the BIN option and send you the other 5.

Really would be nice to have a collective libary(sp) of replacement keys available for folks . The new assemblys are all fine and well but just not the same.

BTW, there is an aution of 10 Cav keys, they don't appear to be the same.

I plan on buying the Cav keys. If anyone wants any of the c96's on the auction I would be glad to share the wealth as I only want one of them.
