That's good money for such a generic, bulky (ugly look'n) machine. they usually bring $10-15 (golf balls is probably
what they're after!
 '<img'>

Columbus', Simpsons and several little machines from the 1920s bring the bigger money
This little Simpson of mine... I paid $250 got $1800 as is on eBay.
I need about 10 more of them so I can get a Pepsi 81
round top...... '<img'>

I guess I should have been more clear on “good money” in the gumball world.... sorry.
To me, (And I just started collecting these since December)
it all depends on what you like (same with soda machines) These squared off machines
are cool with the right decals and color combos.... but when they look like the one with golf balls...
without the golf balls most would pass it up looking like that. It needs a paint job and a little TLC.

As with soda machines I'm more a 1950's model like'n guy... Love the Oaks and Northwesterns!
“Good-money” to me on a swap meet find $50-$100... “Big-money” on these little machines $500-$900
“Too much money to burn they gotta be crazy... It's just a little gum machine-money” $1000.00+

Check out a collector I met while selling my Simpson Jr...
This is just a corner of his collection room.
There's about 4 grand sitting on this corner table...
Beautiful....

It's what you like and how much you can pay...
to me $60 bucks is a lot for a newer machine...

Eric, you must have been downright giddy when your Simpson sold for 1800 balloons... '<img'>   What a score!

Hey Bob K!
Just got my 1 & 5 cent mech from Mike ... nice condition.... also
got the decals from gumballkingsdecals.com .... When I get these together
I'll post some after images....
Josh my Topper machine is on it's way! I'll post images of it soon as it gets here!
Bought a decal for it too....
But will need a new lock for it. Does anyone know where to get a lock
for a Topper machine?

Thanks

That's great, Eric.

Does your combo mech have the spring on it to snap it back into position?  Mine does not.  Seems strange to have to turn the handle counter clockwise a bit before you put in a coin.  I don't remember doing THAT as a kid...    '<img'>

Does anybody know anything about this gumball machine?  I got it from my Grandparents estate.  My grandpa had a store back around the 50's.

I'll have to look it up when I get home in my book!
Very Cool though!!!!!! Looks to be in Great Shape too!
Bet that caught a lot of kids eyes when they walked into
the store...

Bob I'll have to check... don't remember... I two-toned the machine silver and light blue hammertone (Rustolium brand from ACE Hardware) I'm gonna try and sell a couple on eBay
then I think I want to get a 1 cent and a 5 cent both oak/acorns then I'll have all three versions.... Sounds like something a 40 year old guy needs right?..... '<img'>
