Recently acquired this Pepsi Surevend P-47.  I always liked the round sign on this one, I just wish it lit up.  It's a neat little machine, small, compact and very nice looking.  Only vends 8oz bottles though so I doubt this will ever vend a Pepsi.  Currently have 8oz Dr. Pepper in it.  Works great!!

It’s easy to light up your sign if you want with an LED backlight, although you’d have to make a small hole behind in order to get the power supply to it.

Has anyone ever done this?  I'd be interested to see what it looks like.

I agree. It’s very nice.
I would still look into lighting up the disk. That would make it sooo much better.

The thing with these machines though is that they are have a wood frame with a metal skin.  If you want to remove the door liner to drill a hole for the light wiring you have to remove a lot of nails to get the door liner off.  It might not be worth risking the damage to the liner.  I have the Seven Up version of this machine.

Yes, I noticed this when I was looking at the liner.  It probably is not worth it to try to remove that liner.  I had a chance to get the 7up version years ago and I still regret not getting it.

I wouldn't mess with the liner either,,, I'd pop off the front lense (looks like 4 screws hold it on), play around with some different lighting to see how it looks before drilling anything.. then if it looks like some simple LED Strip light is all it would take, then drill a small hole to run the power lead through, tape on your lights to the front, install your lense and the deal with the the power supply and cords on the inside to figure out how to wire up.. should be easy.

Good luck
