Watching one on eBaY in Scottsdale (local).  The listing says that the machine holds 64  6.5oz bottles.   Can it handle larger 12oz bottles also?

I would think so. It has slanted shelves, right? Then they would be adjustable. the seller must have never known they can move back.

I own this model. It can handle cans, 12 oz bottles, 16.9 oz plastic (NOT 20 oz plastic), 8 oz little cokes, diet cokes andsprites. A great party machine.

Actually the USS 64 series holds cand but The css series will hold all sizes of bottles except some plastic.

I had bid on this machine earlier on, asked the seller about cans v. bottles.  He told me that it would hold cans (which jives with the specifications for the machine), but that he didn't have the spacers to convert to a can machine.  I'm not that sure that Markito isn't correct, and it's just a case of adjusting the shelves.  Another machine I was looking at, same model, was configured for cans and looked identical in all pictures.  Agree with the earlier comments on the machine -- I would love to find one closer to Kansas, but have had difficulties coming up with one that's reasonably priced AND close to home.  Good luck in bidding!

Well the problem with vending cans in a Cavalier is the same as in a vendo. How do you get them out? Since there is nowhere to grab a can in a small space you can not get them out. Now with the USS 64 you turn a nob and it flops out so you can pick it up. I have done several Cavalier 64's and the Frosty machine is one of them. I still have 2 Cavalier 64's and two CSS80's which is the same but taller and it would be verry hard to vend cans out of. It is not a matter of won't or can't it is that you must have some small hands to reach in to grab them. also the spacer thing is not a problem. The bottles or even if you try cans should stay in place just by the weight of each other on the shelf. Here is a pic of the inside of a Cavalier 64. As you see you would need to pull out the white flap and find a way to grab the can.

Thanks everyone... appreciate the input.  FYI, the seller posted pics of the serial tag and it says USS but the pic of the inside sure looks like Josh's CSS?

What are these things worth?  Original good condition.

That is a USS-8-64. The USS stands for universal slant shelf meaning that it will vend anything. They were made from the early to mid 70's untill the early 80's. They aren't really valuable as far as a collectable machine but they are great machines to own since they will vend 8 different selections and will vend almost anything. I like them alot. I have redone a few and I have done them in an early 60's paint and decal theme. For an origional working machien I would say $250 to $350. a restored machine can go for $1,100 to $1,500 at least that is what I have been able to sell them for.
