Vendo Coin Changer questions

Hi all

I recently became the new caretaker of a Vendo Coin Changer. 

I won it in a local auction.  I didn't have the chance to go and see/inspect it before bidding.  There was no key, so there were no pictures of the interior, however it looked to be in fairly good condition so I figured I would set a limit on what I was willing to spend and I bid on it.  I ended up getting it for less than my limit for what I thought was a great price......

until getting it home. 

Upon opening it up, I found that it is missing the coin mechanism.  It appears complete otherwise. 

My question is, are the coin mechanisms specific to this machine or are they common to any other machines?  I am concerned that I may have bought a sweet looking, non-functional wall hanger. 

I may have a problem, I keep telling myself that I an done collecting.

Fun-tronics may be able to get you that key.  Don't see that particular number listed on their site but it would be worth a call.

Jees, am I showing my noob knowledge or what???!!!   Who ever said that there are no stupid questions is wrong.  

I opened it this morning for the first time right before heading off for the day and thought that it was missing components of the changer.  For some reason I thought the Vendo Coin Changers had tubes that held the nickels like my Standard coin changer did.

Is there a manual on the site that describes the operation or shows an exploded view of it?

     I have never owned one but good question, where are the nickles stored?

You dump the nickels into the top of the hopper .  Where it says “warning “.

It had a respray at some point that partially covered the Instructions on the interior.  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. 

I need to mess around with it a little before posting silly questions next time.  I might have a few more

you're missing the little coin return box that sets in the front door to the bottom left... looks like a nice changer... congrats!

I was messing around with it last night.  It was not working at first, but then realized that arm was getting bound up against the back section of the case.  The metal was somewhat distorted, and after straightening it, the arm was free to move.

I filled the bin with nickels (as it says to do on the Instructions  ) and it began making change.  It probably needs a good cleaning and adjustment, it didn't always reset itself properly to accept another coin. 

I need to make a call to Funtronics for some bits and pieces.

You do have a nice looking Vendo coin changer.   As already mentioned you are missing the coin box that sits to the lower left inside the front door.   Funtronics has the paper ad that is placed in the outside front plexiglass, once you get that cleaned up.   Not sure if they have keys.  My machine is darn heavy without putting any nickles in it.
