I know a lot of you guys collect signs like I do.  Have any of you seen this one in this finish?  It is an 18x54 sign from the late 50's or early 60's.  I have seen the white part in solid white but not like this.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

That looks like it had the original paper stuck to it ( that’s common on NOS signs) and when they removed the paper it left this pattern. I’ve had some that the waxed paper was just so adhered to the sign it wouldn’t come off without a lot of trickery.

Sure it does. The sign is not NM but NOS.
But... it may not affect the value as much as you might think. It depends on how rare the sign is and how attractive the “ design” is.
Your sign actually looks cool with that design.

yea it is hard to tell it wasn't made that way.  It only effected the white areas and the metal is smooth as glass.

Yes as described.. the wax paper had a chemical reaction with the white paint.
there are a few tricks to help with it but it's risky. and not sure how it would affect the rest of the sign..
I've used soft scrub with bleach on a few white signs...
I've used Mequires paint cleaner
I've had mixed results but overall made the signs look better.

I think that is an African version of the sign.

Try using “Bleche-Wite Tire Cleaner“ in a small inconspicuous spot on the white portion only, dampen a soft rag with the cleaner & lightly rub it & rinse with water,   I’ve use this to brighten up yellowed (white) signs...
