I guess it's been close to 20 years now when American Retro in Dinuba, CA made a series of reproduction embossed 6 pack coolers. 2 versions of Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Orange Crush, Grapette, and a few others that don't come to mind. They are still producing the Coca Cola version.

I don't remember production numbers and I believe they retailed for about $150. I owned a few when released and sold many years ago. My question is who is sitting on these coolers now or where are they? I would love to buy a few just for decoration if they are affordable but they are very tough to find. I check eBay often and they don't even show up there. I'm surprised how they dried up so quickly.

If anyone has a lead on any please let me know. TIA.

the Dr Pepper is my favorite.. never see it anymore.. the Frostie Root Beer is another nice one along with the Grapette... you see NuGrape on eBay quite a bit....
Some seem over done.... the Pepsi I wish they would just copy the embossing from the old ones they have too much wording, to me anyway...
They were pretty hot and it's nice they didn't over do them and flood the market... I have seen some with rust as I think their chroming wasn't the best quality.

Yes Eric, you are right. I buddy of mine had a few he had me sell about 10 years ago and I had to replace the screws on both the handle and corner tabs as they rusted away. Also had to steel wool the same pieces to make look presentable.

I’ve got a few in one of the storage units. Not sure what’s left. Can’t get to them right now but I’ll keep you in mind Ray.

I found a couple of Dr peppers, Pepsi and a Grapette in my stuff.
A Dr Pepper just sold on eBay for $182.50. There's a Grapette on there right now for $120.00 with bad paint (never mind). You can still buy the Nugrape on Amazon for as low as $99.00.

It's my belief that 1/2 the time we see them sell for over $125 - $175 (roughly) they are being bought by people that think they are old.
Some sellers don't indicate that they are new.......

The stainless ones can bring a few dollars more than the regular ones. As they should.

I recall a guy selling a bunch of the regular Grapette coolers on EBay about 10 years ago for $59.99

I still have the three I bought: Dr. Pepper, Frostie, and Grapette.  I have an original Coca-Cola six pack cooler, so I didn't buy the reproduction.  No desire to part with any of them.
