After much debate within the family, I've decided to sell my generic 81.  These generally only come up for sale once or twice a year on a national level it seems.

After seeing one posted here recently, and realizing that I'm probably never going to get to build my fantasy OC 81, I've decided to offer mine up with the hope that it goes to a good home.

Looking to get $4,000 for it.  Complete, no visible rust, and very straight.  Holes on right side where a bottle rack was once mounted.  Non-change giver mech, correct VMC bezel, original shelves and refrig unit.  Have used it for display only.

Machine is located in Colorado.

Email me at DLcraft@Q.com with any questions, or for additional info, pics, etc.

Thanks!

Nice machine Duane!

I bought the other one for sale on here recently, and you're right....they don't come up often!

Yours looks to be in great shape...I'm sure you won't have any problem selling it!  Good luck!

Thanks Bob!  Everyone needs a generic if building a fantasy lineup.

I was an RC 81 away from having the full set of 81's at one point.  After this goes, I'll be down to just Coke and Pepsi.  biggrin

That's where I'm at now with no RC.  No cash currently, so that may be my situation for a while.  darn

I really like the paint color on that.  I think it looks really good just the way it is.

First off I like the look of that machine and would leave it as is, but I understand that a fantasy machine of a desired flavor is, well, is desirable.  I never understood why a generic 81 would go for a higher value than an embossed machine.  Couldn't you just take a lesser valued Coke machine, cut out the embossed Coca Cola, and weld in the embossment of choice, or is there no room for that.

Just curious.

I agree Larry,, I've asked that same question.. if your going to make a fantasy machine, who cares if it's a VMC generic, or a Coke 81D or even a 81b model.. Heck it's FANTASY... so who cares.. I have often thought of taking an 81a and making a fantasy machine out of it... I'ts MY fantasy anyways right? ??

but to each their own...

Based on the color, I wonder if that was a Canada Dry machine at one point?  I have a generic 110 Canada Dry machine that was similar in color.  Or should I say colour?
