Where is the best place to find a compressor for a 1971 Cornelius machine?
This is the only pic of the compressor I have.
Thanks

May not be the best place, but the easiest and cheapest place would be right out of another 1970's Cavalier machine.

See I'm not 100% convinced that it needs replacing. I'm NOT a compressor work on kind of guy. An electrican buddy of mine replaced the starter capacitor on it because it had burned out. (had dark marks on it). The unit comes on, but never cools.
SOUNDS like a compressor to me?
But where would I part out that exact machine?

The same basic cooling systems were used in a variety of their machines for this reason........easy replacement.

Thanks. May sound stupid here, but where would one even begin to find similar local units to pull a compressor from?

Can drop machines have a long evaporator and will not fit glass door machines.

All the glass door machines in the picture below have common cooling units.

Thanks guys.
I'm trying to send a PM but it doesn't seem to be sending for some reason.
Here is a pic of my machine.
Think it'll fit this model?
Also, please see if you can send me a PM so that we can communicate.
Thanks for the offer!

Ok, had a local service guy come today and said the compressor is definatly kicking on. But, it's not cooling. He put some more freon in it, but it's still only getting to around 50 degrees inside.
He mentioned something about a drier possibly clogged, or some other causes.
but at the end of the day, I need a new compressor I think.
Here are pix of the tags and the inside.
coke_and_stuff thinks he might have one that'll fit.
IDK how much those run now, especially with shipping.
Thanks,
Mark
