I have an old Canada Dry advertising clock that is date stamped from 1963. It was a housewarming present from my parents. The clock motor stopped working and is locked up. Anyone know where I can get another motor or who rebuilds the motors on those?
I will try to post pictures soon.
Thanks,
Jimmy B.

They don't make the original motor any longer and their is no repop available either. You can find them on ebay, but typically not NOS. The movement is not that complicated, so they are easy to take apart. I have taken several apart and cleaned/oiled up the gears and gotten a previously locked up motor back to working order. If you are able to get it back to working, be aware that it is a temporary fix. The gears were not made to last 50 years. If it starts to work again, you can look for a trashed out clock or one with a broken ad glass to use for future replacement parts. I have been collecting these clocks for a while and you may want to rewire it to allow the clock to light up but have a separate switch for the actual clock motor. Depends on if you want it to function all the time or be a decoration. I have a local clock shop that keeps an eye out for these motors for me and they just don't turn up very often.
Did the clock run quietly before it died? If you could hear a grinding as it ran, that's due to wear in the gears and is the typical cause of failure. If it was fairly quiet, then its possible the motor could have gone bad. That's less common, but I just swapped a motor on a clock two weeks ago. You can pop the motor off of the back of the gear movement and put a repalcement one on from a donor mechanism and it should run - oil the gears while you have it apart.

Thanks for the replies! I attached a picture to it. I will check out the websites and see what I find. Brian, I am going to attempt to fix it myself. I can't make it worse right?
Thanks again guys,

Curious what motor they had. Do they have a new version of the original motor that they can now provide as a replacement or did they have a working motor from an old clock? Also, what was the ballpark cost for the version they had for sale? Did you try to rework your old motor and if so did you have any luck?

Hansen makes the example that will fit Pam clocks and most neon clocks. You typically just need to order the motor, although the price for the movement with the motor isn't that much more. Petrorelics sells them for around $30. Fast shipping too!
