Wanted to share a couple of pictures. I guy called me up a couple of weeks ago telling me that he was selling a Cavalier 72, after sending me pictures he gave me a offer I couldn't refuse. Machine was straight and complete but redone as a Pepsi machine, looks like Pepsi got a hold of it in the 60's and had a Pepsi plastic plate over the Coca Cola embossed letters. I took it straight to Glen's shop on my way home where we took the plate off and saw it was a small letter machine. At that point I didn't know what to do. No way machine could be displayed as is, I could have flipped it for a small profit, or have James, Glen's painter restore it. Glen had told me before that the next small letter 72 he was going to restore he was going to put the Fishtail logo using the embossed Coca Cola as the letters to fill in that space. So, we all decided to do it to this machine. James sent me these 2 pictures as the machine is not done but I think it looks very sharp.

Looks cool.  Is this a keeper or are you going to flip it?  Be interesting to see what it will bring if you decide to flip it.

That is a great idea for the smaller embossing... nice way to fill all the blank space and set off the embossing...

Like that. SM logo always looked poorly done.

Yes, my plan is to sell/flip the machine. On paper to maximize my profit potential was to have it restored. I will install a LED light kit in the bottle door which I really like so for that reason I might display it for a while to enjoy it then sell it down the road. I too am really curious to see how it will sell with the fishtail logo. I don't think it will hurt it, probably help it but I don't think it will bring in any more dollars, if that makes sense.

That's really a great idea.  I think it will look very sharp when complete.  Looking forward to seeing the completed machine

I like the small and large embossing on the Cavalier 72 about the same and I have one of each.  I know I am probably in the minority.  I think the small embossing is a little too small, but the big embossing comes a little too close to the coin door.  I think something in between would have been better.
