OK I have a Cavalier C55-E machine that has functioned fine up until today.  It has kicked the GFI breaker on the patio to which it has run on for the last year.  Every time I plug it up it kicks the GFI breaker, no lights no compressor nothing.  Where would I start.  Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

Check the entire power cord, if it feels and sounds brittle the wires could be shorting.

Sounds like something is shorting out.  As Moondawg has said I would check the power cord.  Is it all original wiring or have you replaced the wiring harness at some point?

While you are at it, best to replace all of the wiring. Safety first.

It could also be a bad start / overload relay in the compressor.  If that is the case the original relay can be removed and replaced with a 3 to 1 found at Funtronics or Soda Jerk Works.

Best advice ever for a soda machine. The insulation gets brittle and will fall off causing random shorts.

Not the safest option I would definitely splurge for a $50 wiring harness!

so is this harness cover all wiring in the machine.  I plan on a spruce up of the machine very soon.  Were does one get a harness?  Is it made specifically for c-55e?  Thanks you all for your support. biggrin
