Does anyone know who owns the 7up Vendo 56 prototype? It did survive so it's out there somewhere.
I don't think Vendo would have manufactured any of the "other" brands... Unless, of course, it occurred after the merger, which thinking out loud, may have been too late to re-tool for a specific brand... I would be inclined to think it should/would have a VMC manufacturing tag...
Has one been documented somewhere...? Photos...?

I believe Ray is referring to the unembossed 7up 56 in Walter's book.

What is interesting, is that a 7up embossed 56 was offered in the form of a transitional machine.

56 prototype was built by VMC, it had the later tear drop bezel that was found on many transitional 56 and 81 machines. It was not embossed. And unlike the Vendo 56 it didn't have a Vendo stamping on lower right, and it didn't have a VMC square in the center of lower door like the 33s 81s 88s etc. A buddy knows where it is. And he has been up close and looked it over on several occasions.

All these years I thought it was embossed. Would still be a killer machine to have, or even just see in person.
