I was in Big Spring a couple of days ago in TX, noticed everyone in town had a machine in their yard hmmm... odd, well I drive by what looks like a bottling plant with a for sale sign out front, I get out and look inside and it looks as if it has been ransacked, even the logo had been ripped out of the floor. Contacted the owner, said he just sold a bunch of signs for $900 to some guy in GA said they were from 1951. He said he had a bunch of Cavalier and westinghouse machines left over, bottles, crates, whatever.... He told me at first he gave everyone in town whatever the wanted, they just came by and got it. When I showed interest he wanted to suddenly sell stuff instead of give it away, wanted $75-$100 for the machines, unfortunately we had already left and were in Abilene.  Now I don't know how old this stuff is or what condition it's in but most of the machines, dispensors, and ice machines that were in people's yards were anywhere from the 60s-70s. If anyone lives nearby, should check this out. Just a heads up.

Don't know, it was the main drag into town I guess, we came off the 20, it's there on the left, has an old car parked under the entrance, and a big wood shed in the back, has a wall going around it, across the street there is a bunch of soda machines.

Thanks, I am off for a couple of days and we may cruise over and cat around the place.  Are you from this area?

Hi no I'm from Mississippi, went to Las Cruces, NM to pick up a couple of Barq's machines and look for Barq's stuff in TX, didn't do too bad. Hopefully you can find this guy and it won't end up being a bunch of crap, I just didn't have time to go back, I wish I still had his phone number.

I work in Big Springs on ocassion, but I think I'll load the family up and take them over on Saturday.  I'll get his phone number and post it if anyone is interested.   If there are any steals (pun) I let everyone know.  We have a storage acilty for our companies to store things and I could probably stroe a few I anyone wanted to make a road trip.  By the way I always by the milkshakes at our drugstore for my friends.  Justin

Hi the reason I was there was so I might find the old Barq's plant, but instead everyone gave me directions to the old coke plant so it shouldn't be a problem to ask someone old enough to know. Hopefully it will be something good.

I am always looking for slant shelf machines, so if you find any at a great price let me know. I don't mind road trips.
