Hello, we are descendants of Stuart G. Lyon of the Lyon soda machine. It is a pleasure to be able to see pictures of his activities!
I don't think we have any artifacts from the business, at least I have not seen any.

Sorry for the long delay on this topic. There may be some family heirlooms, but we do not have them in our branch. Stuart had two daughters. One settled in Connecticut and is the mother of my wife. The other settled in Texas, is deceased, and has family there.
These soda machines were just family legends until I saw them here. The Texas family may have kept some memorabilia. Stuart retired there and died there, in Houston.
Stuart was from a Buffalo family. He was a salesman and a financier in New York City before trying business management (soda machines).

I was once contacted by a Lyon's family desendent that was interested in a complete Lyon's rootbeer barrell that I had in my collection. I can't remember all the details but I would have just given it to them but they didn't pursue it for whatever reason. I ended up trading it off for something else a couple of years later. I always thought that was kind of strange.

And as VBT has stated, one of the Lyon 500 models has surfaced with the hopes of a SMC Member acquiring the machine...

I don't know about this. What was the root beer barrell? Were there other products besides the vending machines? |
