I have a veno 39 and I recently had to replace the compressor fan. After I replaced it and started it up again everything is freezing. I have it set to 1 which is the lowest it goes before off. Any clue what has happened and what I can do? Should I unplug it so compressor isn't over working?...thanks again

I'd say your thermostat needs to be replaced or if it has adjustments for the cut in and cut out points I'd start with that.

I turned the thermostat to 7 and in 2 hrs it was at 17F and the therm was starting to frost up and compressor was still running , so I guess I need a new one. Is it just a regular thermostate that I can find at lowes ? I live in Canada and it is a pain to get things across right now and triple the price it use to be so buying from the 2 sponsors would take for ever and shipping is killer...thanks again

I see from your profile you are in Toronto.  I am tentatively going to be in Toronto on Sunday/Monday next week for work.  If that happens I'd be happy to bring you one if you want.  PM me or email me direct at jholmgren at gmail dot com and maybe we can work something out.

Are you sure you have it rewired correctly?
What was it doing/not doing before replacement?

what happened is the motor on the compressor fan seized up so I bought a replacement compressor fan motor. When this happened my wife was 1 week do so its been sitting for a few months unplugged until I had time to fix it. I put the new motor back in and turned it on and now the temp dropped to 17F and the compressor doesn't shut off, Even if I try to turn the thermo to the off setting it still runs. The only thing I can think of is I had a buddy try and fix the old motor at his work and when I hooked it up and pluged it in  it blew a fuse in the house so I just bought a new motor fan. Could it be a loose wire? I did re-wire the motor? I don't know anything on refridgeration...thanks again Kevin G

Check to make sure the 2 wires to the T/S are not touching each other, thus bypassing it.

Hey Kevin,
Great meeting you yesterday. Good luck with the 39, keep me posted on the thermostat replacement.
I'll be back in the great white north in a few weeks so let me know if you need anything else.

Oh, and thanks again for the donut(s)!
